Hey there! I'm Monica.

I'm here to help you grow your practice by building you a hard-working Squarespace website that converts visitors into clients.

As a graduate of a Masters program in counseling and art therapy, I know how little therapists learn about actually running their practices in grad school.

So I get it. I know how overwhelming building a website can be. I know how foreign the word marketing can seem. I know how frustrating it is to worry about finding clients when all you really want to do is work with them.

But the hard truth is this: without a system for connecting with potential clients, your practice will struggle to grow.

Three common website mistakes therapists make:

Using their website as a resumé.

Nothing makes a client feel misunderstood quite like their therapist talking about themselves, right? It's no different on your website. Visitors want to know how you can help them, not necessarily what you've accomplished.

Using subpar platforms.

Websites that aren't optimized for mobile viewing, and websites that take a long time to load will repel visitors (a.k.a. potential clients). Not to mention, Google prioritizes fast-loading, mobile-optimized websites in search results.

Underestimating the internet.

Everyone and their mother is online. Therapists that don't leverage their website, social media, and email communication are not only leaving money on the table, they're making it more difficult for the people who need their services the most to find them.

First, we'll get clear about your ideal practice.

You started your private practice for a reason. We'll work together to remember what that reason was, and weave it into our plan of action, so that your practice can grow into the business of your dreams.

Then, we'll determine your ideal client.

Many therapists take a broad approach to marketing their services, saying, "I help everyone." I'll show you why that's keeping your practice stuck and preventing your dream clients from finding you.

Next, we'll solidify your branding.

Your brand communicates how you want your clients to feel when they interact with you. We'll collaborate to identify the visual language that tells the story of your values, beliefs, and philosophy so that you attract the right clients.

All of my clients receive the following benefits:

Stress Relief

Be done with the anxiety of trying to figure out the tech side of your business. Sit back and relax while I design a website that will work for you while you sleep.

Collaboration

I'll offer my creative advice and guidance, but we're creating your site. Your feedback and input is an important part of the design process.

Custom Copy

The words on your website are more important than most people know. I'll write effective copy that speaks directly to your ideal clients so that your website does that important work it's supposed to do.

Brand Strategy

In order to reach your ideal clients, you have to know who they are. I'll send you a comprehensive questionnaire to get you thinking about who you're here to serve, and how you can connect with them going forward.

Confidence

Website design can be intimidating, especially when someone else designs your site. I'll make sure you know your way around your site's backend with a complimentary Tutorial Call after your design is complete.

Increased Credibility

It's no secret, a high quality website radiates professionalism. Likewise, a low quality site can really harm your credibility, especially in the tech-savvy world we live in today.

Is a website really that important? Can't I just use my profile on Psychology Today to tell people what I do?

Yes, a website is paramount if you own a business, which you do. Think of it like this: you rent or own space to hold your therapy sessions, right? And you put time, care, and attention into making it a space in which your clients feel welcome and at ease, right? Your website is your virtual office space for your business. Visiting your website is often the first encounter your clients will have with you - help them feel welcome and at ease in your virtual office space, and they'll be more likely to work with you in your actual office.

What website building platform do you use?

I design websites exclusively on Squarespace. I do this for a few reasons:

  1. Squarespace sites are one of the best performing in terms of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), which means when people search for counselors in their area, your website will show up toward the top of the list.
  2. A Squarespace account includes everything you'll need to run a secure website, including tech support.
  3. The backend of any Squarespace site is extremely user friendly. I'm all about designing you a site that makes you feel empowered, not helpless. When I finish my design, I want you to feel confident in making changes/additions as your business grows so you don't feel like you have to hire someone anytime you want something changed.

Do you design logos?

Short answer: no. Long answer: I can tweak your existing logo to match the new visual identity we create for you, but for entirely new logos, I refer out.

Will you write the words on my website, or will that be up to me?

I will write all the words on your website (this is known as "copy") based on your answers to my questionnaires. I'll translate the important information you need to provide into simple, concise language that connects with your specific clientele.

What's the process like to work with you?

First, let me know you're interested by clicking the "apply now" button below and filling out the application. I will return your email within one business day with any additional questions I have about your project. Then, I'll send you a proposal with three package/price options for you to choose from. Once you select your preferred package, we'll sign some paperwork and get started!

Standard projects are usually complete a month after starting, but our timeline will depend on the size & scope of your project, and how quickly I receive feedback and information from you. The first two weeks are the information-gathering phase, where I get to know you, your business, and your ideal clients. After that, I'll get to work on the design and copy writing. Throughout the process, we'll stay connected via email to make sure everything's coming together in the way you envisioned.

Every project ends with a Tutorial Call, where I walk you through the backend of your website and make sure you feel confident in managing your site on your own.

Do you only work with therapists?

Nope! I work with all types of helping professionals; coaches, healers, teachers, etc. If you're wondering if we'd be a good fit, fill out the application below and I'll get back to you.
